2014 Pinot Bianco 'Punggl'Peter Zemmer
"In our winegrowing region whose tradition already achieved fame during the period of the Roman emperors, wine, culture, and art have been closely intertwined throughout history: Alto Adige – South Tyrol has been shaped by countless generations of winegrowers as a land of quality wines. The cultivation of vineyards has been an important part of our family history for almost a century. The third generation still shows the same enthusiasm for wine. Culture and nature, tradition and innovation, great respect and development, I love and live my environment."
This Pinot Bianco is a selection of grapes of the best vineyards of the valley floor on the edge of the Adige River Valley. It flourishes under outstanding climatic conditions on a stony, sandy and extremely chalky soil. The poor yield per hectare and the particular terroir are responsible for the outstanding quality of the wine. The fascinating interplay between tradition and innovation, man and the surroundings, sense and sensuality finds expression in the passion and sensitivity with which Peter Zemmer brings this wine to life.
Bouquet of elegant flowery aroma with typical tones of green apple and spices. Fruity mineral flavour, full-bodied with fresh acidity
